I held my breath on the first go round of my scan so they could check for calcification. If there was too much of it, they would not proceed. But if you don't get the dye, it isn't the same scan. Guest guest
Hi , Lil, Actually, I had the dye, also. In fact, the first time, they didn't put enough dye in, and I heard them discussing that something was not quite as it should be before they did the scan. But they went ahead with it. I came out the other end, they took the IV out, and only then did they realize that the scan was not optimum, and I had to have yet another IV put in to repeat the scan. A double dose of rads to my gonads, as we used to say in the 60s, 70s! My scan did show some calcifications in my coronary arteries. Dr. Natale told me that it was nothing that needed treatment, but that I should try to reverse it through diet and exercise and attention to my cholesterol. My EP suggested a nuclear stress test, which I had, and I was happy to get a very good result from that. I will look it up in my file and find out what kind of scan I had. I was happy to read that you have had no afib at all since your cardioversion, and that you had a very good check-up with your doctor. > writes: > I had a similar CT scan done at the Cleveland CLinic.
