Afib and Surgery

Hi,

I'm fairly new to afib, having experienced my first attack in Nov.

2005. I spontaneously converted with just a diltiazem drip after 6

hours. Since then, I've only had a couple of extremely

short " flutters " . I'm now facing extremely serious surgery for a

spinal injury in my cervical spine and have no idea if afib is going to

be a problem. I haven't yet had my pre=op meeting with my surgeon and

he does know about the afib and I've got my directions about stopping

the warfarin before my next step ,the myleogram.

Has anybody else had to have surgery while subject to these random (?)

attacks?

Thanks,

Suzanne
