Folks, I have a young man who works in a park in the middle of

NOWHERE - quite a ways from an ambulance or first responder with AED

capability. He has been trying to get information about who and where

he might could apply for grant funding for an AED for the park. Can

someone give me information that I can give back to him? Please post

it here because I am sure there are others with the same questions.

Thanks,

Jane Hill

Jane, you might have him check with the American Heart Association's state

or national offices in Austin and Dallas respectively. I don't have the

contact info, but you can probably get it with a Google.

I don't know about full grants, but there is a subsidized AED program

through the AED Instructor Foundation where he can get one for $895

(currently it's the Zoll AEDPlus, others may be available soon). Is

there any way of raising funds for that locally?

He says he had called them multiple times - can't get the right person on the

phone and no one is returning his calls. Anyone know a different number for

someone at ORCA in the know - maybe a direct line?
