Guest guest
Hi I just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm and I live in England with my husband and four children, including my 7 1/2 year old son who has a diagnosis of Worster Drought Syndrome. Yeah I know, you've never heard of it, very few people have, but it's a type of cerebral palsy where the mouth is affected far more than the rest of the body. He actually presents (apparently) as a child with severe verbal dyspraxia, and although he's a very talkative little boy, he's not particularly understandable. He's about 2.5 - 3 years delayed in both his speech and understanding of language and attends a special needs school (where he's making wonderful progress). I joined this group in the hope that I'd get new ideas for helping him communicate with the world at large. (Even though his speech is mostly un-intelligible he does prefer to use his voice, and if you don't understand him then he sees it as your problem not his)
