Guest guest
Private email message going to friends. If anyone is offended, including Wayne, by my email comments to a couple of friends, I apologize. Obviously that comment was not intended for the list. Britton Waldron [TEXAS_EMS] Scene Control Since the Texasems-l group is playing censor about posting this, I'll post this here for reply. 2 car MVC, one was T-boned by another because one car ran stop sign...speed of other car about 40 mph, but trying to stop in time from hitting other car. Car one is a Honda or similar type car, car two is a 1980's Buick, so solid metal. You have a medic that see's this MVC and goes to check the people in both cars. Driver & passenger in Honda are out of the car walking around, air bags did deploy and they are fine. The driver of the buick is an older lady, shaken up but no obvious injuries. Does c/o of some arm and wrist pain to right arm, but no obvious deformities and she is able to move the arm and wrist. The small town has a FRO (First Responder Organization) in the local VFD. They arrive on scene and ask that the medic who lives in this town, heard the crash, working in another for another EMS provider, not a member of the FRO, to leave the scene and turn pt care over to them. They are ECA (Emergency Care Attendents) or first responders. Most have let this certification expire or according to the TDH website some have been emergency suspended in 2004 & 2005. So my question to you is, how would you handle this situation? The local PD is now asking why would they, the FRO not want additional and MORE EXPERIENCED help at an accident scene. Thanks, Wayne Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Try it now. ____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ _________ _ Never miss a thing. Guest guest
i don't mean to be splitting hairs here, but if most are " expired " or have been " suspended " , how can they be ECAs???? They are ECA (Emergency Care Attendents) or first responders. Most have let this certification expire or according to the TDH website some have been emergency suspended in 2004 & 2005.
