Guest guest
I am working on making dolls for special needs kids that look somewhat like that child. I have a ton of ideas and my dad is helping me out. I was wondering if you were to give your child a doll that resembled them what would it have on it? I have alot of things already and I am not just going toward CHARGE kids but that is where I am starting and Downs. Also if you know any other Syndrome with charcter traits let me know so I can also look into that. Thanks, Crystal mom to (11), (3), and Eva (20 month old CHARGEr) wife to Dan in Illinois

Guest guest
Crystal- I'd like a behind-the-ear hearing aid for dolls. One that would fit on an American Doll-type doll would be so cool. They have glasses, but no hearing aids. Aubrie also has a ish-Rite brace. When she had her hip surgery, I made a spica cast for a doll using mask material from the hobby store. It helped her prepare for the surgery. When she was done, we passed it along to a little girl at the hospital who would be having the same thing in the future. A G-tube scar, thoracic surgery scar, and hip surgery scars would be good too. It'd be cool if you could customize a standard doll with scars, appliances, etc just like a kid. Put a real G-tube in the doll's belly. Use some kind of plastic material to create a permanent scar modeled after a photo of the child's. Make mini-braces and casts similar to the child's. Good luck with this! Michele W
Guest guest
Thanks Michele and Ellen I have been looking on line all day for ideas and getting my ideas together on paper. I am so excited about this and my mother in law is going to help me with it too.
