What brings on your atrial fibrillation? Hi Maura, There are many triggers that cause an AF event and these triggers are unique to us all. It may only take one trigger to get your AF going, others experience them all. Caffeine. From coffee, softdrinks, medicines and chocolate. Stress. Lack of sleep. MSG from food. Exercise. Alcohol. Sleeping on your left side. Nasal sprays. Non saline types. Anxiety. Cold Drinks. and there are others, but this makes up the most common. Welcome to the group and ask lots of questions. Guest guest
Hi, I would like to ask you all a question. What brings on your atrial fibrillation? When my stomach is full ( after a large meal) or when it is completely empty I feel it can bring on an episode. Certain body positions like bending forward can cause it as well or a bloated stomach. Sometimes I feel that the slightest movement can cause an episode? Does this sound familiar to anyone? Did your doctor agree with you ? Guest guest
Excellent response - kind of sums it up! Eating and sleeping are triggers but since I've been on Sotalol not so bad, I still have episodes but they don't last many hours. From what I've read this is mostly vagally mediated afib. Lovely... Guest guest
In addition to my question I would like to thank you all for answering my question. In my case, cold drinks( especially on an empty stomach);bending forward; pressure on my stomach, can cause an afib. But I must say that some days I am more sensitive to these provoking factors than others. Guest guest
Maura, it is known that full stomach can be trigger of an af episode. I am not sure about an empty stomach though! Triggers differ from one person to the other. With careful observation and keeping notes you might be able to tell what your trigges are. nikitarussia7 maura@...> wrote: Hi, I would like to ask you all a question.
