Or are there no AEDs in public buildings in these states? Guest guest
Believe that all changed the prescription and medical director requirement that is about a year ago. Now AED's are available for purchase on the shelves of Walmart or Cosco. Jim< > Not so in Louisiana. Guest guest
The AED's that were being sold in Wal-Mart and Walgreens were being sold as a " package " deal. At least the ones in Texas were. The package was for like $1200 and included the AED, pads, and an MD " order " . _____ From: texasems-l [mailto:texasems-l ] On Behalf Of Sent: Thursday, March 02, 2006 10:43 PM To: texasems-l Subject: RE: Volunteer FF treating patients Believe that all changed the prescription and medical director requirement that is about a year ago. Guest guest
Law School Lesson #1 about Louisiana Law. When trying to do anything in LA, first carefully fold a $100 bill and pass it with your card to the state official whose attention you want. Gene G. Guest guest
Not according to a question I recently posed to DSHS. Specifically, I asked what would happen if our PD started carrying AED's (we have two) and I, in my capacity as a police officer (and holding a paramedic license, but not being actively employed by the police department as a paramedic), were to carry / use an AED would need medical direction/protocols. I was speficially told that if they PD placed the AED's in the vehicles and promulgated a policy for use by police officers, city employees, etc., that my " usage " of the AED on someone would fall under THIS policy, not under my " license " as a paramedic, and as such did not require medical direction. Just my $.02. Mike > > Not in Texas either.
