Guest guest
Hi all, As some of you may remember, Graeme, Kennedy, , , and I will be heading off to Disney on Sunday morning (the 31st) and getting home late Sunday night (January 7th). If anyone is having any troubles or needs assistance with the list, they may have to wait until I get back, unless I find access down there to check my email, etc. Thanks for your understanding and I hope you all have a safe & happy new year! Guest guest
When we went we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and it was great for a host of reasons. For me (and thinking of the Goddaughters) the little boat ride back and forth was perfect for the anticipation to the park and the " come down " on the way back to the Lodge. My guess is that almost any of the places close are perfect!!! My twins (Goddaughters who are now 10) loved the train ride around the park, as well, for relaxing. They liked getting a drink and then riding for a while!! Who knew! Have fun and I , too, can't wait to see your pics. pam May Be Offline For A Bit > > > > Hi all, > > As some of you may remember, Graeme, Kennedy, , , and I will be > > heading off to Disney on Sunday morning (the 31st) and getting home late > > Sunday night (January 7th). Guest guest
Pam: We stayed at Wilderness Lodge when we went also. Isn't it just fabulous?!?! Did you get to the pool for the geyser? We had a great time and ate far too many times at the in-hotel restaurant, Whispering Canyon. (And isn't that a hoot!?!? Hope you ate there at least once.) And, yes, the boat ride to the park was the best for " come down " time. Guest guest
Have a wonderful time! Advice: Do a bit of park in the AM; come back around 11:30 for a rest/lunch and " nap " (for Mom and Dad!) until about 1:00 and head back out. We were told that was best because of the " typical " Florida rain time in that area. Worked pretty well in that timeline, except for the day it rained all day. What a great way to spend the New Year! Parade and fireworks over Cinderella's Castle, and everything else! Guest guest
- I just remembered that internet access in the Disney rooms was a daily charge - like $10 or something! My guess is you won't find easy access and you won't want to take time for it anyway. Just enjoy your time away from the rest of the world! Guest guest
Hi Marilyn, I DID love the Wilderness Lodge and we did see the geyser--the kids were fascinated so I think i might have gotten " geysered out " but it sure is a wonderful novelty. Were there two restaurants? We ate once in one but I don't remember the name!! We used the cafe a lot and we often ate at the park. The last night there we went with the kids to the restaurant for just dessert which they thought was sooo special because we went after dark and without their parents--they thought it was quite an adventure!! pam RE: May Be Offline For A Bit When we went we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and it was great for a host of reasons. Guest guest
Pam: I don't remember if there were 2 restaurants or not. We also used the café a good bit, but twice missed their hours and hit the Whispering Canyon. If you ate there you'd remember: Definitely a unique experience! Did the kids get to ride hobby horses in a Pony Express race through the restaurant? Did the wait staff " holler " for ketchup from another table? Did they make neckerchiefs or headscarves from your napkins? ( and I still have ours!) The tables all had a big, iron turntable: Which the waiter sometimes turned partway through the meal, switching our plates! It was all too funny! Guest guest
YES!!!! I do remember that. The kids were appalled at the yelliing until they figured out the game of it all. I was the butt of several jokes because of my small order--you can imagine the comments: " our food is not good enough for you? " " do you want to cook your own breakfast? " , etc.!!! Our plates did get switched AND they also took away some!!! The little one (now 6) didn't quite appreciate all this, but the 9 year olds were tickled once it all fell into place!! pam RE: May Be Offline For A Bit When we went we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and it was great for a host of reasons.
