Guest guest
Hi, my name is and I have a 19 month old baby girl named Alissa who has charge. From day one that I heard Alissa's little cry I new something was different. I have two boys that are older so I can kind of tell. Anyhow, none of her doctors would pay attention until finnaly I kept questioning it and after she had a MRI and a CT scan for other reasons they noticed she had a small voicebox. It's definitly worth looking into even thought there is not much you can do about it. Hope this helps/ > > does any one out there have a charge baby that does not cry loud > caitlyn since she was born has a very quite weak cry i have read that > it is called laryngomalacai can any one comment please .also has any > one heard of a imunologist introvenous immunogloben treatment, also does > any one know about a trachosphageal fistula i think i had heard of it > on here before any ideas i have ate a dictonary for my tea today ha ha > rita gran of caitlyn [charge baby 1 year] >
Guest guest
Kennedy didn't cry loud at all, it was raspy and weak. She didn't have laryngomalacia (floppy airway) but she did have a weak cry. A tracheoesophageal fistula is a hole between the trachea (windpipe) and the esophagus (food pipe). It should be repaired as soon as detected as far as I know. www.chargesyndrome.info > > does any one out there have a charge baby that does not cry loud > caitlyn since she was born has a very quite weak cry i have read that > it is called laryngomalacai can any one comment please .also has any > one heard of a imunologist introvenous immunogloben treatment, also does > any one know about a trachosphageal fistula i think i had heard of it > on here before any ideas i have ate a dictonary for my tea today ha ha > rita gran of caitlyn [charge baby 1 year] > > > -- " It is far better to grasp the universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring. Guest guest
Hi Rita, My son Evan's cry was non-existant while he was in the NICU. I remember trying to comfort him and he would have his mouth open, wailing for all he was worth and no sound would come out. Initially I thought it was just because he was on CPAP, and the air pressure was interfering somehow. But that wasn't it, as his cry was still soft when they took him off CPAP. He didn't have any choanal atresia or tracheomalacea, only obstructive apnea and bad reflux. We worried that once he was home, we'd never be able to hear him from our room (with all his monitors, there was NO danger of that!). It took a long time, but his cry gradually became louder as he grew. He's almost 18 months old now, and has a " normal " volume, relative to other kids his age. (mom to Evan, 18 months) ritaskeoch wrote: does any one out there have a charge baby that does not cry loud caitlyn since she was born has a very quite weak cry i have read that it is called laryngomalacai can any one comment please .also has any one heard of a imunologist introvenous immunogloben treatment, also does any one know about a trachosphageal fistula i think i had heard of it on here before any ideas i have ate a dictonary for my tea today ha ha rita gran of caitlyn [charge baby 1 year] __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hi Rita, Congratulations on Caitlin's coming home!! Rasha's cry was very similar to what just described about Evan. It was noted to be very hoarse when she was delivered then she was intubated for 3 weeks and we thought maybe that was the problem. ENT found the laryngomalacia the following week and we thought it was because of that. One of our best memories is of the first time we heard her cry from the bedroom while standing in the kitchen (not too far a distance). Now she's LOUD. :-) Janay Rasha's Mom > does any one out there have a charge baby that does not cry loud > caitlyn since she was born has a very quite weak cry i have read that > it is called laryngomalacai can any one comment please .also has any > one heard of a imunologist introvenous immunogloben treatment, also does > any one know about a trachosphageal fistula i think i had heard of it > on here before any ideas i have ate a dictonary for my tea today ha ha > rita gran of caitlyn [charge baby 1 year] > > > > > > __________________________________________________ >
Guest guest
Amelie's cry is very similar to what you describe, its always been low husky and hard to hear. We initial thought it was the amount of vent tubes and possible trauma, but ENT didnt find anything! Its a charge thing...maybe!! hugs Les x > > Hi Rita, > > Congratulations on Caitlin's coming home!! Rasha's cry was very > similar to what just described about Evan. Guest guest
You may also want to check for Vocal Cord paralysis. Our daughter has that along with the tracheal and laryngalmalacia. Now with the trach, no cry until she is big enough to use the speaking valve. However, before the trach her cry was nearly non-existent and her ENT and pulmonologist said the vocal chord paralysis was the reason. > > does any one out there have a charge baby that does not cry loud > caitlyn since she was born has a very quite weak cry i have read that > it is called laryngomalacai can any one comment please .also has any > one heard of a imunologist introvenous immunogloben treatment, also does > any one know about a trachosphageal fistula i think i had heard of it > on here before any ideas i have ate a dictonary for my tea today ha ha > rita gran of caitlyn [charge baby 1 year] >
