Guest guest
Hi all! There is a feature cover article with CMEs in the December Contemporary Pediatrics pg 22 -34 called When Silence Isn't Golden -The Late Talker written by my co author Dr. Marilyn Agin. I wrote the parent guide on page 33 called " What to do if your child should be talking -but isn't yet " Check with your child's pediatrician to see if they have a copy to check out -it's a real breakthrough article for all of us. Contemporary Pediatrics goes out to tens of thousands of pediatric medical professionals across the US. The cover photo is also awesome -see it at link below (or at your pediatrician's office): *** The " late talker " when silence isn't golden *** http://www.contemporarypediatrics.com/contpeds/content/contentDetail.jsp?id=1327\ 20 Also check out page 14 of January The Writer magazine (on news stands now) for an article that I just wrote called Bringing child a voice turns parent into author. In it I made sure it included " ...Most children with speech impairments have average to above average intelligence, but at the time, even those with minor speech problems were judged as cognitively inferior and were open game for teasing... " You can find the Writer magazine at and Noble or other book/magazine stores, and online the current issue is at http://www.writermag.com/wrt/default.aspx?c=i & id=126 Pg 34 Contemporary Pediatrics /Pg 14 The Writer magazine: Both articles have websites for CHERAB, Speechville, and ASHA. Getting the 'word' out -literally! Happy Holidays! =====
