Guest guest
Has anyone heard of and had experience with Flavay, it is a natural substance to prevent platelets from sticking. Check out the website: Thehealingpine.com and review the information on it. I would like to read some opinions on this.

I have never taken it and I am unaware of any objective studies as to the effect fo their products. The vendor is clearly trying to get a piece of the billion dollar statin (plavix ) market by saying it prevents platelets from sticking together .I by teh way am very wary of statins even though some studies have indicated some lessening of AF (possible through anti- inflammation-their emphasis) There are many things you can ddo to reduce inflammation through natural means (not in a pill ) They also wish to convince us that other vendors and other natural agents are not effective . If we are trying to get statin like effects I do not know if they can do that . If one is concerned about anticoagulation I would say take it if you like then tell the Doc and test to see if it affects your INR .I would be very surpized if it gave anticoagulation results ,with this product alone . I am of very skeptical that we can take a pill and the problem will go away.If it is part of a whole natural lifestyle it may offer some benefits . Check for objective studies of the french pine and let us know. By way of disclosure I take garlic and grapeseed oil as well as Co-Q10 and a small amount of l-carnatine . I do not know if they are doing any thing for me . I do not however have the time to wait for conclusive objective studies to look after my health . Try a goggle scholar search on pycnogenol (the trade name of a standardized version). http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi? cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=11996210&dopt=abstract I also saw a study using pycnogenol as a preventive measure to avoid deep vein thrombosis (DVT) during long airplane flights (also known as " tourist class syndrome " ). My wife and I now take pycnogenol as a precaution before transatlantic flights. , Charlotte NC
