NR Re-certify by Examination

Just out of curiosity, has anyone here re-certified for NR by taking the

examination again? If so, how was the process? And more importantly, did

you find the exam harder this time around?? It's time for me to get my

NR done again, yet my schedule really limits my ability to get enough

" live " CE. I saw this option, and I'm likely going to do it later this

month, but I find myself having to re-think a few questions, " the

registry way. "

I know it's a relatively new option, so I thought I'd ask!! Hope

everyone is having a good week thus far!

I chose this method this past cycle.

I did the NR online registration no problems but I did not get the return

E-mail in the time stated. I called NR they looked into the problem and it only

took 2 calls on my part and half a day to get the issue fixed (IT Glitch) I

then got the E-Mail I needed to register with Pearson Vue. Pearson Vue

registration was a piece of cake no glitches and the NR side of it took less

then

30 minutes total time on the phone in two phone calls.

I had no issues at the test site and was in the test cubicle within 5

minutes upon arrival.

As for the test I applied the same logic that I teach to my students.

I read the question in total and made sure I understood it, then I read all

answer choices in whole and if I knew it was A it was A if I did not know off

the top of my head I used the process of elimination and came to a choice of

2 likely answerers and either reasoned the answer or I made the proverbial

guess.

I passed and did so within 20 minutes total time on the PC. The thing that

bothered me a bit was that every other question seemed to be a pediatric

related question and I forgot that the test was adaptive and that all that

meant

was that I was answering those early Pedi questions correctly and the test was

giving me harder Pedi questions. I had made a mental note to remember the

number of questions that I had but I have slept since then and do not recall

it.

I liked the option myself.
