I'm not sure I understand what you're driving at? Do you wish to malign

this person or has this person caused you some sort of harm?

I'd be careful about what you post on a public forum regarding specific

individuals.

Is this person harming patients?? Unless this is the case (or the person is

convicted of a crime), I think you're going to find that DSHS is unable to do

much.

Part of living in a free society is that people make lifestyle choices that we

don't all agree with.? We don't have to approve necessarily, but we can't use

the state's power to take away someone's liveliehood just because they live a

lifestyle we don't like.

I know gay paramedics who I'd rather trust with caring for my 87 year old

grandmother than I would some of the more self-righteous fundamentalists I've

run across.

Bottom line -- those that would sacrifice a little liberty for a little safety

deserve neither and soon will have neither.

If you want to use the power of the government to enforce your personal moral

beliefs, I'd encourage you to examine Saudi Arabia, Iran, or Afghanistan under

the Taliban.

We aren't all angels when we're off the ambulance.? However, until those

lifestyle decisions violate the law or impact patient care, DSHS has no interest

Good comments. How do we know the person in the picture is even the woman

being complained about?

Maybe that picture is one from some Internet porn site and the whole thing is

a hoax. It stretches my imagination that any medic would post any such

picture of herself on the Internet, and it also makes me wonder exactly where

the

picture came from. This does not compute, as the saying goes.

Anybody can make up a MySpace or YouTube site, as we know from the case of

the mother who impersonated a male on the web and it led to the suicide of a

girl.

Anyway, the list is not the place to present a complaint about an

individual.

There are laws against defamation, willful infliction of mental anguish,

interference with business relationships, and libel and slander.

I would think carefully before posting derogatory information about someone

on a public list.

No EMS link whatsoever until this person specified what EMS service they

serve. While I don't think the original message should have been posted on this

list I must say I would be very uncomfortable having a person with a profile

like this caring for me or my family.

Like it or not when one is in a public service, such as EMS, we are held to a

higher standard and are under more scrutiny than the average joe. I'm not saying

its fair or right- its just the way it is. Yes, we have the right do what we

please in our off hours and to live whatever lifestyle we choose. However, this

person could have posted her blatantly explicit profile on the internet without

divulging her employer or profession. If that's enough for TDH to get involved

or bring any adverse action against this woman is not for me to say.

What I'm finding difficult to understand is how many who have posted

in response to this thread have missed the obvious. Including

Miss " let the flames begin " and our own state EMS director.

Is it not apparent that this woman is being stalked by someone? The

same person has posted this garbage to at least two other EMS boards

for over a year now trying to smear the woman. What else can explain

the lack of variety in photographs? He only has the one and he keeps

using it in an attempt to hurt the poor woman. I can only assume he

is a spurned lover or ex-husband.

You people need to open your eyes.

Would the level of care that you or your family would received be any different

if you did not know about this profile? I think if I were in a position where I

needed

medical care I would not care one bit if the person helping me had naked

pictures of them self on the Internet.

I worked next to a guy for three years, had beers with him after work, We knew

each others families. I had no idea he was a convicted sex offender. And when

the word got out, he just simply and very quietly moved away. I knew a very

attractive girl that worked at a dance club off of Rankin road only on Friday

and Saturday nights.

She was paying for her school to be a pediatrician.My point is you said you

would be uncomfortable with getting care from this person because of a picture

on the Internet.

Are you even sure that the picture is of the right person? Further more, how

well do you know your own partner?

It is a sad time when someone in this country would post something as negative

as this about anyone. That woman isn't much to look at and I don't condone her

lifestyle, but she doesn't deserve these derogatory posts and websites.

What some cruel individual has done is ruined someones life and possibly the

life of family members or other love ones. Anyone can do this to anyone and I

certainly hope they fry for this. What is difficult about the MySpace situation

that Gene made references to is that no charges were made in the case.

It is obvious that someone made up these websites to flame an individual they

don't care about. I believe that anyone posting a profile would not add so much

personal information. Someone has entirely to much time on their hands and they

obviously have a porn fetish. What you do in your own bedroom and on your own

time is your own business, but you don't have the right to ruin someones life

like this. You might as well be the one pulling the trigger. I am a true

believer in what goes around comes around. Stand by.

Anyway, I have to step off this soap box and tend to my babies. This isn't a

thread pertaining to healthy E.M.S. debates and I wasn't going to chime in, but

I couldn't hold back any longer. I certainly hope I didn't offend anyone (not

that I haven't done that before), but this is a time when this country needs to

stick together and look out for each other.

Agreed, Gene.

You might also note that the person in one picture is a blonde with glasses;

the other has dark hair, no glasses, and appears to be quite a bit yopunger.

Pretty obvious that these two web sites are a hoax - and a very hurtful one.

I hope that whoever put the hoax together gets caught - and gets what is

coming to them.
