Guest guest
FYI Renay Zamloot has set up a meeting with NJ DOE Commissioner Lucille Davy and Barbara Gantwerk for January 12 at 2:30 in Trenton to discuss parents' concerns about the proposed changes to the State Code. This meeting is being convened as a compromise because Renay, acting on behalf of SPAN and the Special Ed Leadership Council, had been told by a NJ DOE representative that State Board of Ed members would not meet with groups of parents even though they had met with lobbyists for teachers, principals, school boards, etc. I wondered if you would be interested in attending the meeting or know of parent group leaders who might be good spokespeople about parental concerns. Please let me know ASAP. Thanks! -- Martha Brecher Legal Director, Statewide Parent Advocacy Network 35 Halsey Street, 4th floor Newark, NJ 07102 telephone: (973) 642-8100 x 114 fax: (973) 642-8080 martha.brecher@... www.spannj.org
