I've been thinking about the Wang studies, both airway and National

Registry/accredited programs.

Instead of us trying to nitpick the studies, how about we find ways to improve

EMS on our own so we can actually have a real reason to say why the studies are

inapplicable to Texas or our respective programs?

What are y'all doing to improve ventilation success at your service?? Bougies??

Supraglottic airways?? SLAM or other training? Waveform capnography?

As for EMS education, what are our respective programs doing to ensure that

students are fully exposed to the National Standard Curriculum?? Are we actually

teaching?? Or are we just showing PowerPoints interspersed with war stories and

hoping that students learn by osmosis, holding a Bledsoe text up to their

foreheads?

I don't like the conclusions of the studies myself.? But instead of complaining

about the studies, let's try to fix the faults as identified.
