I've no experience with seizures but can only imagine how horrible it is to

watch your child suffer and not be able to help. My prayers are with you

guys for a quick resolution!

(and Sally, too).

For some reason the doc. that I am thinking of, I think was planning on moving

to your area which is why I think Sally might be helpful (Lord knows my brain

isn't recalling the name!!). I am so sorry that is having such a tough

time--does she have any ear infections or anything that might be spurring this

seige on?

poor boo boo, give her a kiss.

Pam, I'm going to put Sally's name in the message line on this and see if she

might be checking in. Thanks for that tip. Miss had a rough, rough

evening last night.

Pam,

No, no ear infections, sinus problems, congestion, or anything of that sort.

These seizures almost seem to run in waves, though. And they'll disappear and

return from day to day, too. She had SUCH a bad night Wednesday night, but then

yesterday she was totally back to her old self, and her aide said that she had

the best day at school that she had had in weeks. Go figure! You kind of saw

that too, though, when we were at Perkins--how " on " she was the first day and

how " off " she was the next. That's what makes the whole thing even more

puzzling.

Just to add confusion - one of the moms in my special needs moms group predicts

her sons seizures by the neap tides (in the farmers almanac)......

Hi Pam,

did well over the weekend, but then had another really bad day on

Tuesday. The mood swings were totally over the top all day long. She was just

miserable all day--and so were we watching her. It's just a very helpless

feeling to watch her go through that. Her sleep was off the night before, so

we're not sure if that's what triggered it, or what. The increase in her

seizure med just doesn't seem to be helping much this time, though. Her

neurologist wants us to increase it a little more, but we're not sure if that's

going to help things or possibly make them even worse. I guess we'll try it and

see.

Another mom on the list emailed me privately and recommended the Cleveland

Clinic as having a great pediatric epilepsy department, so we are going to call

there next week and see if we can get an appointment. I'm sure it will take a

while to get in, but it will be worth it if we can get some answers. It's about

four hours from here, which really isn't that bad, especially considering that

they are covered by our insurance plan. Wish us luck! I'll keep you posted.
