Guest guest
The feds have finally done something good. An East Texas man, Anura Andradi, of Forney, was sentenced to 97 months in federal prison and ordered to pay restitution of $2,710,015 for defrauding the Texas Medicaid program by certifying that dialysis patients met the Medicare and Medicaid guidelines for ambulance transport. His company, Doctor's Ambulance Service, LLC, was put on probation for 5 years and ordered to pay the same restitution. Two others, Maulie Happawana, of Plano, and Ron Pyatt, of Grand Prairie were also sentenced for their part in the fraud. I hope this is only a start. There are dozens of others out there like them sucking up money that ought to be available for legitimate patients and providers. If you know of an operator who is doing this, please call the FBI and blow the whistle on these slimeballs. Guest guest
Holy Crap, I was wondering if anything would come of that. A lady I know was called to testify because she worked for them and they asked her to help with billing. Glad I got out of the private sector in Dallas! Guest guest
Yeah, 97 months is 8 years and a month, and he'll serve almost every day of it in the federal system. Guest guest
Red, I think that everyone and their cousins three times removed were called in on this one. Maulie was also part owner in Life Care Plus EMS also. That service closed, but because of money problems...embezzlement by her and all kind of lines of credit because she did not know how to bill correctly.
