Killeen Firefighter/Paramedic Lieutenant Dennis and Acadian EMT-I nna

have lost their home and possessions to a fire yesterday.

Let's try to help a brother and sister in need.? Acadian is making efforts to

provide for the family.? Point of contact at Acadian is Terry Mayer.

.?? I don't have specifics on Killeen FD's or the IAFF efforts, but

I am certain that they'll step up to help as well.

I've attached a news article as well.? Next week is Thanksgiving.? This is a

holiday about family.? Let's see what we can all do for our extended EMS family.

Killeen Firefighter Loses Home in Blaze

By Haley Baker

KEMPNER - A Killeen firefighter had to sit and watch his own home go up in

flames Tuesday morning.

While Lieutenant Dennis was at his job as a Killeen firefighter, he got

word that his own home in Kempner was on fire.

The family of four lost everything, including their pets, two cats and two dogs.

The fire broke out before noon at their Kempner home off Armadillo Lane.

Lt. was working at the Central Fire Station in Killeen when he got word

that his house was on fire.

Killeen Fire Chief Jerry Gardner spoke with News Channel 25 saying, " Of course

Killeen Fire department and neighboring fire departments are doing everything we

can to help out. Lt. and his family get the necessary items the next couple

of days to get back on their feet and assist them anyway we can. "

Three different departments helped including Kempner, Lampasas and Copperas

Cove, but the house was destroyed.

" It is kind of ironic that it happened to a man that spent his career fighting

fires and seeing this day in and day out, but for it to happen to one of our own

it makes you realize it can happen to anybody, " said Chief Gardner.

The cause is still under investigation, but an official at the Kempner Volunteer

Fire Department says it looks to be electrical.
