Guest guest
Sol, Klonopin is a benzodiazepene, like Xanax and Valium. It's addictive and should be tapered off of gradually (like I did not). I was/am taking a very low dose for help sleeping and to help control anxiety which was a major component of my insomnia. That was before HC - now HC is the biggest cause of my insomnia, haven't found my rhythm yet. After learning that I shouldn't have just gone off of it cold-turkey, even on such a low dose (.5mg/day), and talking to my doc (who wants me to be taking 2x/day, naturally) I went back on .25mg before bed AND 3mg of Lunesta which does put me to sleep and doesn't leave the taste in my mouth - guess I'm very lucky in that. I also moved my bed-time dose of HC back to 8PM and I actually slept last night from 10-2AM and then had to get up to eat and took 2.5mg of HC and got back to sleep sometime after 3AM and slept until my alarm went off at 7AM - miracle! Nevertheless, I'm beat today but I think that's b/c I stress-dosed the day before and now I'm back to my normal dose of HC and my body wants more. Anyway, I would beware of benzos unless you need them. Also, I was taking 3mg of melatonin when I had those problems so maybe I would have done fine on .5mg - I just had no idea that it can cause excess T-3 and that 3mg is the equivalent of an elephant's dose - that's how they sell it at the healthfood store - duh.
