Donna,

I take them because they work for me. They are also the amount

prescribed by my neurologist, with the tizanidine being added in

September 1996. I had been on the baclofen and Klonopin before that,

though. My muscles, especially lower limbs, were jerking all over the

place and I was very stiff when I was able to walk. I was once thought

to have Stiff Mans Syndrome, but that changed within 2 days and I

received the Conversion Disorder diagnosis. This was, by the way, a

product of my medical record being incorrect. There is a fairly large

section there that belongs to someone else and it talks about several

things I denied ever doing, such as being treated for alcohol in Rehab

twice. Also, going to ER with frequent complaints of lower back pain.

Don't get me wrong, I'm blaming the neurologist who actually did the

workup on me. I still consider him incompetent and so does my current

neuro, whose group fired him when he worked with them. However, those

darn medical records did not help. I still have to go to the hospital

and get them changed. The entire copy of the other guy's chart is

totally different than mine. The paper is different and only half the

size of the chart's other pages. So, I take the muscle relaxers to keep

my muscles relaxed and able to be used somewhat properly. I haven't

fallen in two years in a PLS fall. I hope to extend that record one day

at a time for a long time. These meds will certainly help.
