Guest guest
I think that what they are trying to do to you is despicable....also... illegal. You should talk to some of the organizations, MDA etc about getting an advocate to work with you. Also, sometimes there is free legal aid available. Yes, you should file a complaint with EEOC, but that can take a long time. You may want to get in touch with an ADA Attorney. They CANNOT force you out of your job. I guess one of the things that they are going to ask is how were your prior reviews? If they were all good and now suddenly because of your condition they are saying you are not fit to continue working, then they are in trouble. They would have to prove that the quality of your work has been declining and they need a paper trail. They must also make all " reasonable accommodations " for you. This is an important issue. If I were you I would not go quietly. That is what they want. I believe that if they fire you you can take them to court, and if you win, may be awarded a settlement. I think I would discuss this with an attorney to find out what your options are. Many attorney's will take this on a contingency basis. Several years ago, before PLS, I was part of a class action against the company I worked for who were systematically laying off all the people over 40. It took us 2 years, but we won and were awarded a nice settlement. The company had to pay our legal costs. So think about it and decide what is best for you. I wish you luck. This is an awful thing for them to do. Bonnie G - Phoenix AZ
