Went to my neuro yesterday, he did all the usual stuff checking muscle strength

& tone, etc. Then he was checking for the fasiculations, tapping the muscles

with the same rubber hammer they use for checking reflexes. He could not make

them twitch and of course they weren't twitching on their own while I was there.

He asked me where did I get them the most? I said above my knees, especially

the right one. Also, above my left hip, and sporadically arms, feet and all

over except none on head or back. He said he doesn't think they are

faciculations, that you mainly get them in calves of legs and biceps and triceps

in arms. I said what are they then? He said do you get them mostly when you

are tired or overdo? I said sometimes, I can get them 15-20 times an hour,

ereryday for a week or two and then not have any for a week, and then it starts

again. I am going to watch more closely and write it down. He said it's

probably coming from the spasticity when the muscles are tired. No atrophy

seen. I left there feeling confused. Does any of this make sense to you guys?

What I am feeling is twitches in muscles that you can see moving under the skin,

seems to be toward ends of muscles, where they would start attaching to

something, like right above the knee, the neuro said you don't have muscles

there. Let me know your opinions on this and thanks in advance for

replies......Jeannie/NJ
