Yes don;t let the vets do what human doctors do and underdose her! In

dogs the big belly and peeing all the time is easily shown up in a week

on too HIGH steroids, but too low thta can be really ill before anyone

notices. I would rampthe med up sloewly till yshe reaches the peeing

stage and then back off till it stops.

Thanks Val..The dog is already having a problem with peeing..she keeps going and

going..and she is also over weight to begin with.( she was not on steriods when

this was happening) I haven't talked with my SIL yet. My husband told me about

the dog yesterday..I will talk to her and find out the whole story..I can't

believe there is a yahoo group for dogs with s..I will tell her to join

it..( Funny how my husband was really upset and feeling sorry for the dog..I'm

like HELLO adrenal fatigue here..sound farmiliar???? I have been talking about

adrenals, cortisol, salt, etc for the past year, and he did not connect the

two...Do they ever listen?? LOL) At least I am feeling better, now I hope the

dog does too!!

Thanks Val, and sorry this was OT everyone!!

If she was peeing ad fat she probably has the same thing YOU * I have!

That is symptoms of HIGH cortiosl and maybe another vet opinion is in

order. Gads the onmoy pweolle I dislike more than doctors is VETS!

(Apologies ot any good ones of either variety) Seriously do a web search

for Alfred Plechner Pets At Risk. I highly revcommened this book for

though it is abotu animals it is one of the best to help understand AF

in humans!

This was online - a good read.

http://www.newsagepress.com/petsatrisk.html

" In the final chapter of his book, Dr. Plechner relates his findings in animals

to illnesses in human beings. Dr. Plechner has presented his clinical

perspectives in 2002 and 2003 to physicians at the Broda O. , M.D.

Research Foundation in Connecticut, an organization dedicated to education,

research, and training in the field of thyroid and endocrine balance. After

learning about Dr. Plechner's findings, one physician, Brownstein, stated:

" His revelations from years of clinical practice have connected the dots between

unrecognized hormonal defects and immune system disorder. " "
