Dearest Ronnie,

I am so sorry to hear about your Mother having a stroke. You and your

Mom and Dad are in our prayers. I wish we were closer that we could do more

for you. God will help us, if we ask him. I will ask him to help you out

here. If there is anything I can do, please let me know. I will send your

Mom a card. When you have a chance send me your house number.....Take

care......Jeannie/nj

the hospital and the siruation is still being evaluated. It was not a

massive stroke but she does have some damage. It is still too soon to know

how this will play out. She has her speech and cognitive ability. The

left side was numb from foot to shoulder yesterday. Today the left arm is

working but not exacrly as it should and the left leg is not moving at all.

The doctor says she can't come home until she can walk. That's not sitting

well with her at all. I visited today. Her spirits are high, attitude is

great but of course worrying about Daddy and , what else? the money. I'm

trying to remember that the Lord never puts more on you than you can handle.

He must have some ptretty lofty plans for me.

know where I'd be without her. The bank will give me all the time I need

but I also need a paycheck. Daddy can't be left alone. The hospital is 30

miles away. I only use the phone with my TTY and even though it is portable

it is not easy to carry back and forth between our homes. I just can't be

everywhere at the same time. I hope it will start to mellow out in the next

day or two. If you think finding a sitter for your kids is a problem try

finding a Daddy sitter. There are loads of folks that will help if they are

asked but I am too unorganized just yet to get a plan going. The phone

calls are a challenge because not everyone understands relay and for the

most part I am dealing with older folks who have never heard of relay.

Carla would make the calls but she doesn't know the people and they don't

know her. (She lives 100 miles from us) So, we could use a few prayers

here in WV.

Hi Ronnie:

I am so sorry to hear of your Mom's stroke. (I didn't know your dad had

Parkinson's.) You are so right - at times we wonder what else could wrong

and then hope that it doesn't. It is good news that your Mom's stroke

wasn't massive but nonetheless it won't make for a good scenario if when she

goes home she will have the stress of your dad's health deterioration.

Those GOLDEN YEARS aren't very GOLDEN for some.

My thoughts and prayers are with your Mom and also for your Dad and yourself

Ronnie. The uncertainty and stress of these things are not easy on anyone.

Take care in knowing that we are here for you.

Sincerely

Jo.

Ronnie,

I am so sorry to hear of your mothers stroke and your fathers problems. This has

to be so hard on all of you.

It sounds like your mothers stroke was on the same side as my hubbys, they told

us in the beggining that he would never walk again. Well with the power of

prayer and the physical therapy he proved them wrong. Your Mom has been very

strong on careing for your Father, I am sure her strength will help her through

this.

Ronnie I do beleive in the power of prayer and they will be going in your

families way from us.

Love and God bless, Sandy

Ronnie, you and your parents are in my prayers. I don't believe the

Lord gives us the hard times, but He does help us thru them.

As you say, God does not give us more than we can handle. Maybe mom needed a

rest, not to say that this is the ideal rest for her, but " all things work

together for good to them who love the Lord. " Your mom would have never left

dad alone, would she? So maybe the Lord will use this opportunity to give her a

time of rest. It's not easy for someone her age to care for someone who is ill.

Deep down I sense she will be o.k. Trust the Lord, He'll work it out for you,

mom and dad. I will definitely keep them and you in daily prayer. Remember, by

His stripes... Keep us updated, I await a good report from the Lord. Take care

and...

God Bless

Yoly

Oh Ronnie

I am so sorry.

That's quite a basketful of worries you have there. I know how hard

it is to get an adult sitter with my older sister. Kids usually

accept a sitter regardless..not so with adults.

They are doing amazing things with stroke patients now. A friend of

mine had a stroke Feb 2, total left side loss including tongue. Now

she talks, eats swallows, has total use of her hand, and limited use

of her leg. She is walking in what they call the box (four-sided

support)

I will keep you and yours in my prayers.
