Guest guest
Hi Maureen, This is from Arlene in Texas. Welcome to the best group of people on earth. I was first diagnosed with Stiffman by one of the best neuros in Houston for nearly 2 yrs. I tested negative on the Gad test but a large percent do. The EMG is the most important test and you shouldn't be on clonozapan when taking test. Clonozapan is the same as klonopin. After trying meds and no improvement they decided not Stiffman. I also tested normal on EMG. They ususally try diazapam first as this is sorta the wonder drug for stiffman. Wasn't a wonder for me in fact I wondered why I was on it! Got best results from atavin and then they added baclofen 20 mgs 3 times a day and I went downhill. Still take .25 klonopin and small amt of baclofen a day for PLS. Jankovic in Houston diagnosed Stiffman from lordosis and the startle affect. Good luck and keep us posted. Arlene
