Ben is to start headstart in our school system on 8/20th he will start half days at first..I have meet with both teachers and he will have an aid while he is at school..they assured me that i needn't worry about him not being potty trained that they would change his diapers if needed and also the aid will too. A huge worry off of me...1 teacher said that her 3yr wasn't trained either and mentally wasn't able too. he had ot and st today...HE KNOWS HIS LETTERS!!!...and can identify his name, the word cat, and the word dog...we think it is because his favorite toy is LEAP FROG FRIDGE MAGNETS, THEY R SO GOOD TO HAVE... he is soo smart inside he just can't voice it. they r fitting him for a talking device, they said it could be up to a year before he can use it full time... he said bubbles today for first time..i cried..lol..he has the sweetest voice...unless he is mad..lol..he still has problems with his hands... he can't cut paper, they tried some with a loop for his to squeeze instead of a regular pair. ot had a kick out of him and his animals..he doesn't say the name but makes the sound that the animals do..it is so cute...he calls a bird a tweet tweet... sincerely, Apri mother of benjamin-3yr- chiari type 1 malformation and apraxia kimberly-7yr- bi-polar with adhd makailyn-16mos- just spoiled rotton Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest guest Posted August 16, 2004 Report Share Posted August 16, 2004 Apri, LOL, my daughter also could not say what the animals were at 3 either she just named them by the sounds that they made, a bird was a tweet tweet also!!. Here is note of encouragement for you my dd is now 4.4 (thats almost 1 1/2 year later) and she is talking in 2 to 3 words and communicates at a 3 yo level and still moving forward. ITS COMING!
