Guest guest
On the subject of dealing with pre-surgical nervousness...I think that on the morning of the 29th (assuming he keeps his promise to get me in early so I don't have to spend hours and hours getting dangerously dehydrated), I'll greet the dear man with " we'll have to stop meeting like this " ...or some such thing. As I said, he knows how to shut me up for a little while...but he hasn't known me quite long enough to get the timing just right! And then, when he comes to see me afterward, I'll pull out all the stops and ask, " Did everything come out all right? " And, if my father does indeed come up here this time (don't hold your breath...he likes to say he'll come, and makes a hotel reservation and sometimes even a train reservation, but the follow-through isn't the best), I'll introduce them by telling my dad, " This is Dr. Fraker. He's into necks. " I'm sure he's heard all of the above a few...million...times. Barbara Multi fol var pap micro (right lobe, 9/11/01), bifocal micropap (left, 10/16/01) Parathyroidectomy coming up on the 29th!! Same surgeon (there's no one else I can think of that I would trust in my neck)...Doug Fraker at Penn Third strike, and I hope he's out after this one!
