Guest guest
Wow Sue that all sounds very interesting. Good luck on the tests, and let us know how it all turns out. Also have fun while you are there, I am very jelous. Sandy Kiwi - Study in England , Per your message of May 28 I contacted Dr. Talbot since we will be in England In part of July and August. I just got confirmation that I am scheduled for a scan on July 30. For those not familar, Dr. Talbot is involved in the following: " A diffusion MRI study to measure loss of motor neurones in the brains of patients with different forms of motor neurone disease. " In the study they compare people with PLS and ALS with the aim of understanding the factors that lead to the different rate of progression which might lead to more effective treatment. Guest guest
Hi I have just returned after a few days away and started working through emails. Good news that you will be able to participate in the study. I found Dr Talbot and his staff really great. The scan took a while, so be prepared. I had my scan with them in May and haven't heard any more but I expect when there are some results we'll hear. All the best and I hope you have a great visit to the UK. in Kiwiland. Guest guest
Yes, I'm very excited about participating in the study. I know it won't do anything for me now but maybe in the future. We are going on a twelve day cruise in the Noregian fjords then renting a car and going to Scotland stoping on the way in England to visit my hubby's sisters (he's english obviously). Should be great and was excited Dr. Talbot could work us in. Sue in Calif > Wow Sue that all sounds very interesting. Guest guest
, I am excited that we were able to fit our schedule with Dr. Talbots. He said we would be there about two hours - does that sound right? Sue in Calif > Hi > I have just returned after a few days away and started working through > emails. Guest guest
Thanks for the info. My apointment is for four in the afternoon so after that we are done for the day. It's nice Dr. Talbot spent time with you. I went to see a specialist (world reknown) in San Francisco and his fee was $960 (which insurance paid for) and he saw me maybe ten minutes then said he had another patient waiting and had to go. He said if we wanted to wait he would come back but we had already waited a long time. I thought it was a wasted trip because he didn't have a definite dx (and a waste of money on my insurances part).
