Guest guest
Val, can you offer some words of wisdom? I've been breaking down the 5mg doses so that I can take 2.5 about every 2 1/2 hours trhoughout the day and take a 2.5 right before going to bed around 10pm. I am such a mess right now that I'm chewing xanax. I'm beside myself. The rushing feeling won't stop. There are no external events contributing. Tell me your dosing schedule. > > -- > Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV I have been weaning myself slowly off Levoxyl for a few months.(A doc kept upping my dose to get rid of my hypo symptoms even though my thyroid blood work was normal in the beginning--she wanted to treat me symptomatically.I got no relief from the thyroid meds.) For the last 2 weeks I have been down to 5ugm Levoxyl and 5ugm cytomel. Today just 5ugm cytomel. My cortisol schedule flucuates a little: 2.5--5am 2.5--7:30am 5mg--noon 2.5mg--5pm 2.5mg--between 9-10pm This morning I took 2.5mg at 3:30am, but got no relief--just shakiness, the rushing feeling, anxiousness, and weepiness. I take sea salt 2X a day as well as lots of Vit.C,Bs, and amino acids for adrenal and liver support. Thank you so much- P
Guest guest
2.5--5am 2.5--7:30am 5mg--noon 2.5mg--5pm 2.5mg--between 9-10pm This is an extremely bad cortiosl rythm. it NEEDS to be highest in the AM. Do you get up at 5AM? If so thta is when you need the MOST cortiosl. Forget what oyur labs showed, once oyu start HC it changes all that. I would switch to 5MG at rise. Then in 3 hours 2.5mg and three hours 2.5mg etc. Do this for about 3 days thewn increase the second dose to 5MG. Then you may be able to extend the odoses out a bit longer try to stretch to 3.5hours between. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets

Back to my first question:Does the raciness ever go away after being on cortisol for a while? Why do I feel powerful rushes in between doses if the cortisol is supposed to give the adrenals a chance to rest? What is causing the rushes? Are my low temperatures normal and are they considered stable? P
Guest guest
The rushes are adrenaline when you run out of cortiosl. Thus why you just need to hang in ther and slowly raise the HC. I did nto see your temps. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets
Guest guest
Val, Forgive me for hijacking this thread...is 5:00 AM a regular time for the cortisol in our bodies to make a shift? Just this morning, I happened to wake up at 3:00 and felt calm as a cucumber (!) then at about 5:00 started getting anxious (which is what I have been trying to work on by increasing HC). I was amazed that at 3:00 I felt fine. Maybe I should have taken my morning dose of HC at 3? Thanks! Guest guest
>>Maybe I should have taken my morning dose of HC at 3?<< Nope but it means you most liekly have a need for a bigger bedtime cortiosl dose so it will last better till AM. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets

Guest guest
I would get the cortiosl a bit higher before starting thyroid even though they are fairly steady, your rushes tell me oyu are not in enough cortios to be able to utilize thyroid. Have you had Ferritin checked? -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets
Guest guest
The doc is squeezing me in this week and I want to ask for the full gamut of tests. Is all the recommended bloodwork on the STTM website that I can give to him? Guest guest
Hi all I have another problem regarding this subject. I started feeling more and more tired as I increased my Isocort dosage since a week time. I don't know if this is due to Pituitary shutting off and allowing my adrenals to rest or if I made a mistake if increasing my isocort to more than I need or if this could be due to other reasons, totally independent of this dosage increase.Today I had to rest whole day. Do we have any explanations to that. I was on 20 mg. I raised my dosage to 25 mg over a week time. Not on thyroid meds. bw Nil Why the " rushes " when taking cortisol I need help understanding the effects of cortisol. I am up to 15mg of cortisol. I thought that taking cortisol allowed your adrenals to stop making it and that allows your adrenals to rest. Why, as I am increasing my cortisol, do I feel more powerful rushes after about 2 to 3 hours after taking a dose and unbelievably awful rushes, heart palpatations and anxiety in the middle of the night? When are my adrenals resting? I am stage 5/6 adrenal fatigue. (Got the results in August but started cortisol December).I took 2.5mg 3 hours ago and I am shaking so bad right now that I can hardly take it. Could someone PLEASE give me a solid explanation? Does the raciness ever go away on higher doses of cortisol? How do I know that my adrenals are stable enough to start considering my thyroid? My average temps the last 7 days were 97.2, 97.3, 97.2, 97.2, 96.9, 96.9, 96.8 (oldest to most recent). Will my temperatures ever go up and are these temperatures considered " stable " or do they have to be higher before I consider tyroid treatment? Boy, do I need some reassurance today! Thanks- P
