Okay folks: Here are my blood test results: (I'm not on any thyroid hormone)

Ferritin: 23.7 (It had been 86 until a heavy period last month caused this drop

and now I am currently bleeding heavy again. Could this ferritin level be

causing anemia? I am feeling very very weak and have to keep lying down.

Thyroxine: (T4) result: 8.0 ref range: 6.0-12.0

Total T3- result: 110 ref range: 87-178

Free T4- result 0.8 ref range: 0.6-1.7

Free T3 result: 2.84 ref range: 2.39- 6.79

Reverse T3- result: 27 ref range: 11-32

TPO- result 55 ref range: 0-34

Thyroglobulin antibody: <20.0 ref range: 0-20 (Does this mean these

antibodies are clear?

because they were slightly elevated awhile back.

Thanks for all opinions

It looks like yes, you have antibodies for Hashis and your reverse T3 is

high while Free T3 and T4 are on the low end. You look hypo to me. Cheri

YEAH. Well nothing to celebrate except clarification. You have low iron which I

am certain causes some of your problems taking thyroid, and Hashi's. Definitely.

You are also quite HYPOTHYROID, and you have too high RT3. The RT3 issue may

also be why you react violenetly to any thyroid containing T4. Your ratio of T3

to RT3 is 10.52 needs to be at least 19. I would suggest after working the IRON

up a bit doing a three month stint of T3 only. Try to clear out the receptors

then you should actually feel better.

Val,

I just got back from the ER. I left right after I posted the labs. I am

bleeding too heavily and have become anemic. I am so weak. I just read your

post but Beau is coming to take me to this house so gotta run now.....Please

tell me where to order T3 only.

Thanks for everything

I feel very hypo now but I believe methimazole did this to me. I was not like

this before that.

Hi all,

I'm finally back home. I am pretty sick and messed up. I guess I never knew

how bad hypoT could feel until now. I wanted to run some symptoms by and see if

these can be both anemic and hypo because I was at the ER last night because I

just keep bleeding and my friend made me go because I was passing clots as big

as an orange. Here are my current symptoms:

Very depressed

cognitive dysfunction (can't think straight)

very irritable

very weak, esp. in muscles/legs are very restless

coordination is off, e.g. in my walking

Discomfort in joints of hands and fingers and lots of weakness in arms and hands

very anxious

very tired and want to sleep

can only do little things 10 minutes at a time and need to lay down

I swear I started feeling like I had MS yesterday. Can hypoT mimick symptoms of

MS?

Picked up iron this morning and will work on getting ferritin up. Ordered T3

and will begin small doses.

Thanks,

>>What does it mean when you have high reverse T3?<<

It means that your body is not able to convert T4 to T3 properly for many

reasons. Or you have too much T4 in your body that cannot be utilized so it

converts it to RT3 as a means of lowering it. It happens wiht high OR low

cortisol.

I would imagine that if you can get the ferritin taken care of and

manage to take the T3, you are going to feel so much better. It will

take time with both, but keep at it.
