Am I in " danger " to shut down my own adrenals completely with this dosage? Thanks! i<< Yes there is SOME danger of shutting down the adrenals even wiht a 20MG dose. BUT what you have to concentrate on is the fact that without enough cortiosl to be able to get the THYROID correct, ther is NO CHANCE your adrenals could ever heal at all. SO what are you risking? Havign to take HC for life, or living an existence that will eventually degrade to lovely things such as I have had.. COngestive heart failure, Diabetes, and stroke range BP. This si what happens in intreated hypo which is what oyu have wiht low cortiosl. And cortisol being low causes anxiety that would put you in a mental insitution without replacing it while you are slowly dying of hypo. It is not a good option. Personally i do nto care if I need HC for life. I don't personally mind too much taking HC all my life if that is the case. Just a worrywart day today lol. I'm doing fairly ok right now with this 37.5mg, some call it very high dose tho.
