Guest guest
My endo brought me into hospital last wed week to 'look at my stomack' had the camera down my throat and pelvic/tummy scan. He did this due to me having nausea on and off since he's been playing with my deltacortril/armour/eltroxin dosage. I wish I had the stamina to write more about my experience of the last week..he took me off the steroid completely, left me on 60 armor, 30 am and pm and of course I went into tremors on the second day. So gave me 5mg hydroC at 11am 2.5 at 4pm and 25 mcg eltroxin (t4) am and pm. within a day I had no interest in eating and totally bedridden..got him to up HC by another 2.5 next day but still in bed most of day. Originally I was on 5mg prednisolone in the am going into hosp. His goal was to wean me off steroid. meantime my thyroid is not stable..t3 and t4 under rrange. He came to visit me on Wed nite..I was in tremors and armed with photocopies of Dr Peatfields chapters on adrenal connection, hypo treatment and the one " to doctors' after some negociation he agreed to put me back on 2.5 delta in the am 5mg hydro at 11am 2.5 hydro at 3pm and 2.5mg at 6pm and take 30mg armour am and pm. I told him I'd had a conversation with Dr P and he had advised me to increase deltacortril to 7.5mg or 30 mg HC. My endo reluctantly said add in 2.5 delta over xmas if i need to My question is am i better to use hc or delta/prednis or is it ok to mix both? and should I just take 30mg armour for a few days till i build my adrenal support up? Yesterday when i did the new approach my temp went up to 99f and i felt weak n sick, this was at noon before i had taken any armour..i also have not slept much 4 the previous 3-4 nites tho absolutely shattered. My blood cortisol levels are high in the am and then start to plummet at noon (he took bloods every 2 hours 3 weeks ago to check cortisol) My average temp has been 96f for the last 5 days. I hope this isn't too mixed up, I'm really not feeling able to do any better..I've put a call into Dr P but got his machine..by the way endo also found EBV in blood work and vit D deficiency so I'm on calcium/D supplement now. Aldosterone/renin/parathyroid tests done on Monday but no results till the new year.. Please advise what you thin Val, thanks ever so much for being there. Sara > > Thanks Val for all your help. Guest guest
Listen to Dr Peatfield.i would trust this man. I would stop the thyroid for now until you get the cortisl levleed off. In this situation ti really doesn;t matter which you take but it does matter that you take ENOUGH. you high temp when you took the pred tells me you have just been piling th thyroid up un your blood for several daysand it wil all dump in ther whne you get enough cortiosl. OBVIOUSLY you are in seriuous adrenal troblein spite of your blood labs,. Ask your doctor to research cortisol resistance, it is said ot only happen to 2% of the population but you maybe one of them where your cortisol receptors are not working correctly and you need higher cortilsl than other peole do. Once out odf hospital I would ditch this dco and se Peatfield if oyu can. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Doc on holiday for christmas as of today. So I am alone on this. I put a call in to Peatfield this morning but got his ans mach which said he is in mid move and for emergencies leave a message and he will get back within a day. I just hope he does. How will I know when the cortisol has levelled off? ie how do I know when to take Armour again and should it be just 30mg? My temp at 9am was 95.9 and then at 12.50 it was 97.8 does this mean anything to you? Am I in any danger when I'm in tremors, my pulse is 85? Unfortunately my local hospital isn't much solace as I've been there already for a week and into ER for an evening 10 days ago, they basically don't know what to do with me so I'm very worried about having nowhere to go with this over the next 2 weeks unless Dr P gets back to me. You know the way HC is short acting well is prednisolone not a better option as it works all day?? This is very confusing to me. My partner and I are just distraught. Thanks for being there. > > Listen to Dr Peatfield.i would trust this man. I would stop the thyroid > for now until you get the cortisl levleed off. Guest guest
Take your temps three times a day average the temps per www.drrind.com adn compare the daily averages for 3-4 days in a row. When the temps are level to less than 2 tenths of a degree form one day to the next you ar ready to start thyroid. Then only start 15MG daily. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets
