Guest guest
I gotta tell ya that this isn't a joke at all because the first time I had a sleep study in 2004, I didn't sleep at all!! So my doc calls me the next day and tells me my sleep study was normal and I kept telling him I didn't sleep all night (not even a wink) and he just blew it off as if he didn't believe me. Then I changed doctors and had another study in early 2006 (this time I slept) and my sleep apnea was revealed. I personally suggest taking a sedative for anybody who might have trouble sleeping in general or think they might not be able to sleep because they're in a strange place or feeling stressed by it all. That's what happened to me the first time, but since then, I've had 2 of them and I slept thru both but I did take a Klonopin before sleep time. Guest guest
Same thing happened to me sort of. I had trained myself to sleep so lightly to avoid oxygen deprivation I had very little sleep apnea attacks due to that and also, they admitted very little REM sleep which is what I was and still am starved for. (Surmontil helps). But the fact my mental health was in jeopardy due to sleep deprivation was of no concern to them. They were by the numbers and I showed few signs of sleep apnea, so no help for me. It did not help that I was a skinny, aspergers syndrome teenager before one could get a aspergers diagnosis and had been on psych drugs (due to a shrink not believing me about my breathing stopping on me). Guest guest
Exactly my question. I know when I did the study with the cpap machine I did not sleep all night long (only slept a tiny bit on the original test and said I had sleep apnea). Yet they said the machine helped and needed one set on 9. Maybe you sleep more than you realize. Vicki Re: SLEEP APNEA/goiter What if you don't sleep during the study? Guest guest
That's what happened to me - total waste of time and very unpleasant. I did mine on one of the coldest days of the year in a hospital room that was either 80 degrees or 60 degrees. With the harness on me and no temperature control to speak of I doubt that I slept more than 45 minutes at a time. They said that I did not have apnea but I don't know how they could have concluded it from that study. I don't think that I do based on what my wife has observed when I am sleeping, but who knows. > > What if you don't sleep during the study? > (not a joke) > sol
