Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I'm new here & have a question. Thelma, I notice you mentioned that you take Potassium, does anyone know if Anemia or Potassium deficience are related to Mito? I ask, because pretty recently my eye muscle started with spasms several hundred times a day & as soon as I started taking iron supplements, it stopped.... a friend of mine mentioned that the same thing happened to someone else she knew & it was a potassium deficiency... I was dx'd with anemia several months back, but it wasn't very serious, just new... It's just odd that the increase in iron supplements seemed to stop the spasms... By the way I've been dx'd with mito for the last year and a half, but before that went misdiagnosed for eight years... It seemed one system after another stopped working & when I finally couldn't walk anymore, somebody took notice... Mostly I'll be lurking, but am looking forward to find out what other adults with mito do for treatment. Mine feels more like i am briefly paralyzed for seconds, and then i can talk, but i am very wiped out after them. I usually go to emerg when they happen, but they never find anything. They are not nearly as frequent since i have been taking 360 mg. of coenzyme Q and 1200 mg of potassium. I hope they get to the bottom of this for you. I have not had a SPECT. I hope you get it soon.Love, Thelma
