Guest guest
you definitely have big time adrenal fatigue. probably at least stage 4 if not 5? you'll probably need more HC then what your doc prescribed. 20-30 mgs > > Here are my newest symptoms since being on 1/2 grain armour for a > little over a month (doc won't raise my dosage); constant leg pain, > extremely cold, join pain and stiffness, nausea, diarrhea, my heart > is fluttering and then last night I had severe vertigo, where I > couldn't see or function for over a half-hour. Guest guest
Brittney, What was your salivary DHEA result and range? You only listed the cortisol for the salivary ones. I see the blood DHEA but the salivary ones need to be posted in relation to the salivary cortisol to see what stage you are at. Also, did you do salivary sex hormones and thyroid or only blood for those? Cheri Very scared; New labs Anyway, here are the results from my lab work; (this is from 30 days ago, before I was on armour) Testosterone Total Free: 0.5 (0.3-1.9) Total Testosterone: 29 (range 8-60) Progesterone: 5.9 luteal phase (range 2-20) DHEA: 2.7 (range 0-12.9) Homocysteine, plasma: 5 (range 0-13) My pelvic ultrasound was unremarkable. My Salivary Cortisol and DHEA lab: 7-9 am: 0.41 (range.27-1.18) 11am-1pm: 0.03 (range .1-.41) 3-5pm: 0.16 (range .05-.27) 10pm-12am: .06 (range .03-.14) He put me on Cortef 5mg 1 at 9 am 1/2 at noon 1/2 at 3pm and Adreset (an herbal supplement) (and which I'm not going to take... as I'm still nursing my daughter) I haven't been reading much on here, and I probably should be. I always just feel so overwhelmed, even when resting I feel like I'm on the verge of tears. Thanks for all your help, everyone, Brittney . Guest guest
Britney, I am late coming into this but why are you taking armour? What is your TSH, Free T4 and T3? It is very common to have both hyper and hypo symptoms when you first start on Armour because of the direct T3. Guest guest
Sorry, forgot to post these: > What was your salivary DHEA result and range? You only listed the cortisol > for the salivary ones. DHEA 7-9am: 191 (range 71-640) DHEA Cortisol Ratio/10,000: 466 (range 115-1188) I only did blood tests for the rest. Guest guest
Thanks, . I guess I don't know much about adrenal fatigue, yet. Can you point me to a link that can explain it to me? I'm taking it that stage 4 or 5 is pretty bad?? He really freaked me out with the " coma " comment. What exactly was he talking about? Am I really in danger of a coma? How do I get more HC if he won't prescribe it to me?? Thanks, Brittney > > you definitely have big time adrenal fatigue. probably at least stage > 4 if not 5? you'll probably need more HC then what your doc > prescribed. 20-30 mgs
Guest guest
Britney, Were these test before or after starting armour? Guest guest
They were taken before. I won't get the " after " labs back until Jan. 11th. ~Brittney > Britney, > > Were these test before or after starting armour? > > Debbie > > > > > > Hi Debbie~ > > > > > I am late coming into this but why are you taking armour? Guest guest
Britney, I am new to this forum and understanding adrenal fatigue but have been on armour for a couple of years. Your labs are on the low end but not real low...have you tried cutting your pills in half and taking only a quarter grain for a couple of weeks until your body adjusts? I know 1/4 a grain doesn't seem like much but you have a functioning thyroid so possibly taking it slower would be your best bet? If you have labs in January, you may not want to change it because them you doc will want you to wait another six to eight weeks. BUT...if you feel that bad, maybe it would be worth trying? Just my thoughts. Debbie > > > > > > Hi Debbie~ > > > > > > > I am late coming into this but why are you taking armour? What > > is > > > > your TSH, Free T4 and T3? Guest guest
ft3/rt3 ratio: 2.6/0.32 = 8.125 this is extremely low -- the ratio should be at least 19. taking Armour (or any T4) may not work very fast. using T3 only, at least at first, would work better. Guest guest
Brittney I am bettign you will need mroe Cortef than the 10MG he is prescribing. But that is a start. It i snot correct to increase thyroid at this point until you get your adrneals more stable. We have a ramp up schedule in our files section for taking Cortef up to 20MG and that is usually the minimum that works. But if you graph your temps per www.drrrind.com while you are ramoing it up, it will tell you whne oyu have enough ot be able to tolerate the thyroid better. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

It is very common to have both hyper and hypo symptoms when you first start on Armour because of the direct T3. << I have to correct this. The hyper and hypo symptoms are NOT because of the direct T3 btut usually because of underlying adrenal or low ferritin problems that raising the metabolism brings to the surface. True T3 raises the metabolism but the way you wrote it someone might think they should avoid all meds with T3 and that is just the opposite of what they should do. By treat ing the underlying low cortiosl or low Ferritin they will be able to take meds wiht T3 just fine. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

The " coma " he mentioned is Myxedema Coma and is not a true Coma as oyu understand the word. You can have it and stil be walking around but not really functional. I had it and it is not pleasant and takes YEARS t undo the damage from letting your thyroid levels fall that low. Below range T3 probably qualifies as very close to this as the ranges for thyrodi levels are REALLy bad and when oyu fina;lly get bad enough to be below range you are near dead with your metabolism.
