Guest guest
Hi all! I just wanted to share something new that is happening... I decided to try a hearing aid in my left ear, which was never aided. I have a severe to profound hearing loss in the speech range with better hearing in the low tones. I figured if the hearing aid didn't work out, I would use it as a spare. My audiologist cautioned me not to expect much since the ear was never stimulated all those years. Well, as soon as I put it on, it was strange but wonderful. I was hearing sounds left and right that I had never heard before. Paper was rustling, chairs were creaking and then a buzzing noise. I asked the audiologist what the noise was and it turned out to be the buzzer for the front door of her office. All those years of going to her office and I never knew the front door had a buzzer!
