I googled it & found this on the STTM site: " Near the end of April 2006, I squelched the fear and increased the HC to 25 mg. In 2 days, I experienced what we call a thyroid dump. I had been way too low on cortisol this whole time, so my Armour was just building up in my blood and not getting into the cells. When the thyroid was suddenly taken up into the cells, it was too much and I experienced sudden hyperthyroid symptoms. My temperature soared from the usual 97.5 to 99.1! I was hot and sweaty, achy, nauseous and could not sleep at all. I had to stop taking Armour for 2 days . Once the thyroid dump passed, I was suddenly feeling better. My afternoon fatigue left completely. I was no longer having fluctuating temperatures. Stress dosing became almost non existent. I started back on the Armour at 3.25 grains (1 grain lower than it was before). I increased my Armour back up by 0.25 grain every week until I was back at 4.25 grains. This was truly a turning point in my journey. " Rosie/

Have you continued with > 25mg HC? and how long have you been taking this much? It wasn't me! It was from Missy's story on the Stop The Thyroid Madness site. Me, I live in hope of getting that far that I experience a thyroid dump! I'm currently taking 15mg HC & though I do feel better, I don't feel it is enough. I've been on it less than two weeks after my attempt to switch to Armour failed mightily - I tried half a grain but it took less than three days to send me bonkers. Since then, I'm back on the thyroxine. I'll be seeing Dr P in January so I reckon I'll hold on till then. All the best on your quest, Rosie/
Guest guest
Thanks Rosie, so you must be in the UK? I'm in Ireland and hoping to be well enough to travel to see Dr P in a couple of weeks. Do you get any dizziness or vertigo from the HC? Guest guest
> > Thanks Rosie, so you must be in the UK? Yes, I live in Wimbledon, so it is convenient for me to see Dr P in Crawley. It feels like it's meant to be. I am pinning my hopes on this one. > I'm in Ireland and hoping to > be well enough to travel to see Dr P in a couple of weeks. Do you get > any dizziness or vertigo from the HC? No, I don't think so, but then I feel generally cr*p anyway from low blood pressure, ME & other lovelies. Armour made me feel like my head was going to explode. Since I've been on the HC I feel better. A bit. Where are you going to see Dr P?
