Guest guest
Hey all, Boy do I have 2 good pieces of news to share today! Our Foundation was just awarded a $5000 Grant for 2004 operating expenses from Bloomberg! Ya hoo! Bloomberg! Gerry and I worked last year to get a $5,000 award (which we did) and I wrote a proposal recently to ask for another grant and they are again awarding a $5,000 Grant. This is fabulous, as it takes money to run our organization and pay for things like charity registrations and audits and stationary and postage and website and Chat and office supplies. We are all volunteers at this time, so we don't have overhead of staff, so that $5,000 goes a long way and means 100% of our TeamWalk efforts will go into Research Awards. We were also awarded a $5,000 Grant from The Millipore Foundation as the Lead Sponsor for the 2004 TeamWalk For Our Cures effort. The Millipore Foundation doesn't usually award grants to national organizations. However, they were so impressed with what our organization has done in less than three years that they made an exception. I put up the two letters we received from Bloomberg and The Millipore Foundation so you could read what they wrote to us about giving us the Grants. You can see the letters here: http://sp-foundation.org/bloomberg-millipore.htm We are doing it! We are making a difference! Let's keep it going! Imagine what we can accomplish if we all put our hands together. This is the beauty of having an organization just for us. Let's make it grow and grow! best, Kathi Spastic Paraplegia Foundation, Inc. Guest guest
Hey Kathi... I also got some good news from this side of the country. I received a call this morning from someone who is going to be a $5,000 lead sponsor for CA TW and then Ken Auer, who is on our committee, sent me an email that his former employer is also going to be a sponsor (Ken said for at least 1,000). Geez, that's only two requests and two " yes's " ... I haven't even approached a couple of other companies yet!!! That's on my To Do List next week as soon as the Chicago Connection is over...so much to do, so little time. Nah...bring it on!! And YES, the note cards will be ready to ship by the end of the month!! Holiday gifts for anyone who thinks this far in advance!! Gentner Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much.
