Guest guest
Well, I would have to disagree completely because several months back, when I reduced my dose of cortef to 7.5 mgs. per day, I became very ill, adrenally insufficient and couldn't pass an ACTH stim test. Thus, if my body only needed to produce up to 7 mgs. per day, then this would not have happened with my being on 7.5 per day. Safe amount of cortisol only 15mg per day? I read a claim that Jeffries is relying on information that has been disproved in the 90's; that the body actually produces only 5-7mg of cortisol/m2 (whatever that means) per day instead of 40mg-->. I have both Jeffries's and 's book waiting on my desk but I just haven't had the time to read them yet. Does anyone know anything about this? Guest guest
I know what you mean. I really needed to be on 35mg of HC for a while, and I'm still on 30mg. But I'm asking if this is really a physiological dose or in fact a therapeutical one? Which would be quite scary in the long run since I haven't been able to lower my dose since september/october. Guest guest
One of the BEST ways to see if oyu are taking too much HC is to track your blood glucose. It WILL go too high if oyu are on too much HC. It may take up to a week to come up but it WILL come up if you are on too high a dose. There can be other causes of high glucose besides high cortisol but this is one way to track your usage to make sure you are not endangering yourself. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
