just a different area) >

Dear Judie,

Thanks so much for posting. I am very encouraged to hear your success

story! I will not hesitate to ask if/when I run into any barriers! So far,

since I got Medicare, the Regence guys have had to pay up for everything

that Medicare allows plus what Regence allows that Medicare doesn't, and

even not collect their own deductible that I used to have to pay.

Instead, now, I only have to pay the Medicare $ 100 per year. Also I don't

ever have to get permission for anything from a PCP, since traditional

Medicare lets you see any MD who will take you. The Regence people won't

EVER put any of this in writing though! LOL.

Once I was talking to one of their customer care ladies and she told me it

was too bad I hadn't opted for their HIGHEST deductible when I signed up, as

then I would have had a much lower monthly payment!! A very good idea in

retrospect, except that I never had any idea that I was even eligible for

Medicare, and so was shocked and delighted when THEY sent me their info

packet a year after I got SS Disability.

Hearing your story confirms what I suspected and will give me a much better

night's sleep tonight and tomorrow, as I'm going to call Dr. Heap's office

on Monday. Cutie gave me the data on Dr. Heap's track record and it is

SUPER. Then I remembered that a friend here in Arlington told me years ago

that she had WSL with Dr. Heap in 1983 or so and that he was great and that

her aunt and two cousins had had him too (they all had severe diabetes).

Well it is great to have so much caring and support going on here! Bless

you.

Kathy in Arlington
