TSH .861 range .35-5.5

FT-3 3.2 range 2.3-4.2

FT-4 1.39 range .6-1.76

RT3 165 range 90-350

Antibodies <20 (i forgot to get the range on this)

OK RT3 is OK at 19.39 ratio. JUST OK. I suspect with a tad more adrenal support

you may make it trough withotu it going too high. That FERRITIN!!! OUCH!!! 200mg

elemental iron daily! I have heard Gerritol with Ferrex brings iut up rather

quickly. You are stil la bit hypo but not horrible, soI would leave the thyroid

where it is until you get the ferritin and cortiosl looking better. Ferritin

should be between 70-90.

Wow, your ferritin levels are even lower than mine. Mine were 28. You need

iron,

Reference range for ferritin starts at 11.

My lab work is IN!!

My doctor called this morning with my lab results. I wrote down the thyroid

stuff and the cortisol stuff. He will mail me a copy of the complete

results, so I'll have those later. Here is what he said:

Morning 6 range 13-24

Noon 4 range 5-10

Afternoon 4 range 3-8

Midnight 1 range 1-4

DHEA 3 range 3-10

IGA 17 range 25-60

So what stage do I look like? Please advise away! My doctor is going to put

me on HC. He wants me to start off on either 10 in the morning and 5 at noon

or 5 in the morning and 2.5 at noon. I can't remember which tablet he was

going to call in. I'll go get it later. He also wants me to do another sleep

study ( I don't mind doing this.) I am also apparently gluten intolerant.

This is not a good thing. Trying to implement a gluten free diet is

defineatly going to be a huge challenge for me, so any advice will be

appreciated.

Just curious if you've been experiencing restless/painful legs? I noticed

this has happened to me since all my blood loss and low iron.

Yeah, it's amazing how it can be that low, but my hemoglobin and stuff

didn't show it. At least it didn't a few months ago. I started taking iron a

few weeks ago, but I guess I need to up the amount. :-)

My legs hurt a lot. I get muscle and joint pain. I have low iron, too,

but I don't know if that is the cause.

He had told me to increase the iron I was taking to 50mg. So you think I

should go to 200 mg? I am taking Gentle Iron (Iron Bisglycinate) by Solgar.

Is this different than elemental iron? I'm not taking any thyroid at this

time. I took .025mcg (or whatever it is) for about 6 weeks and felt a bit

better on it. I went off of it to do the thyroid uptake scan and it didn't

happen because of a bunch of other things going on. I'm still not sure if I

should get that done or not. I have at lest one nodule and several cysts.

The doctor said he thought I should wait to start the thyroid back until

after I've been on the HC for a bit. That way we can tell what is doing

what. I'm just so glad to have labs that actually SHOW something. If I had

the energy, I go back to a couple of doctor's office's and shove the results

in their faces.

What stage adrenal fatigue would you say I'm at with the levels I have?

Basically, I want to be able to say: " I'm at stage ____ adrenal fatigue. " It

sounds more technical and I feel like people will take it more seriously

that way. :-)

Oh yes! I've had RLS (restless leg syndrome) since I was a kid. I didn't

know what it was until I was grown though and someone mentioned it in

conversation. I always thought that everyone's legs did that. :-) It may be

linked to the low iron, but for some reason taking Vit. E helps it

tremendously for me.

My alternative doc says RLS is always either magnesium deficiency, folic

acid deficiency or iron deficiency.

I am gluten free too. I've been tested and am gluten intolerant. It's really

very easy. You just pretend that there's no such thing as wheat products and

you eat EVERYTHING else.

Cara, I just went gluten free myself a few weeks ago. I have actually felt

worse since then, but I think it is because I needed an Armour raise and wasn't

taking enough HC.

It is tough, but in the long run will be worth it! I actually just made cookies

(with wheat flour) as a gift for some friends and neighbors and I didn't eat

any! Yay, me. It is hard! LOL

I'll be happy to commiserate with you :)

Yeah, I have to watch my carbs, too. I LOVE to bake, so I will be

experimenting, believe me! LOL I already know I don't really care for bean

flours. The problem is the alternative flours are so dang pricey!

There are wonderful gluten free recipes on the net including for cookies and

other things and you can also buy great products in the stores now. Don't

need to deprive yourself too much. Now, if you are watching your glycemic

index as well as gluten it is a little trickier but there are still options

like almond, quinoa and other flours to substitute and natural low glycemic

sugars like agave nectar. It's amazing what options are out there but it

takes a lot of time and experimenting to learn a new system.

FWIW, I use the same kind of iron and 100mg wasn't enough. I am trying to work

up to 200, just cautious as I am breastfeeding and too much iron can be toxic

for children.

Just wished to inform that I read that taking vit C while taking iron improves

iron absorption.

Hi Cherie,

My iron was 5 in May and was 94 in November - 6 months later. I did

not take any iron supplements. I was already eating meat with every

meal so figured it was a problem with absorbtion/ digestion rather

than lacking iron consumption. I took HCL tablets about 5 with each

meal, I've also been taking a whole lot of vitamins for the last 6

months, specific vitamins are meant to help with the absorbtion of

iron, I think Vit A & C but this is from my poor memory you may like

to do a search on this yourself.

I Kimberley,

I have felt much better going gluten free, lots more energy and some

of my health problems resolved after a few months - eg varicose veins

started dissapearing, hearmoroids clearing, acne etc. However I've

made a lot of other changes to my diet cutting out refined sugar,

alchohol, dairy and ALL prepackaged foods etc has also really helped.

I now cook everything from scratch, I've learned to really enjoy

cooking! I gave myself 4 months to transition over gradually and that

made it a lot easier. It's actually a lot harder for me to give up

smoking!!! Still trying to do that!

I wonder if one of the reasons you are feeling worse could also be

the drop of energy from all the carbs in the grains? Did you increase

good fats when you reduced carbs - eg coconut oil, butter, olive oil,

fish oil? That would probably help with energy levels.

My diet is high fat, moderate protein and low carb.

It is definatley hard to begin with but if you stick with it you

should gain many rewards and it becomes much easier with time!

iron. Does that mean I can take about 6 of them per day? I've gotta get mind up

quick.
