Ok Kathi

Share your secret. I've been battling weight forever. Since my leg

started spasing and I had to quit exercising at Curves, I'm really

losing the batttle. I'm told 6 of the drugs I take daily cause weight

gain. So what's your secret? Duck tape maybe?

Congratulations on your loss and I'm jealous.

GOOD FOR YOU! I am always trying to lose weight and know how hard it

is. I figure the lighter I am the easier it will be for my hubby to

help lift me out of a chair (or the ground). However, the last time

I say my neuro he said to eat healthy and don't lose any weight. I

try and take my dr's advice but losing weight is my lifes goal! lol

Hi, I've got good news I want to share this morning!

I've been working hard the past couple of months on dieting. Some of you

have heard me bemoan having gained weight the former year and a half ....

20 pounds, yuck. I've always battled the bulge and sometimes that bulge was

pretty bad, but had lost everything I wanted to lose a couple of years ago.

Dieters know it's easier to lose than maintain, LOL! Well, as of this

morning, I've now lost 10 of the 20 that jumped back on when I wasn't looking.

I have to admit that I notice it's a little easier to walk! Now, I'm not

saying that I no longer need the cane that I started to use every day six

months

ago, but, I am noticing it is easier to lift my legs.

That is helping to motivate me and hopefully, I can kiss the other 10

goodbye, too, or at least another 5. I'm older and my metabolism is changing

and I

can't be as active as I used to be thanks to these crazy legs, so I'll take

what I can get as long as it's not in the up-direction!

best,

Kathi

Well, it's really no secret. It's the old " eat less and exercise

more " routine. Really, there isn't any other magic, despite the

zillion diet regimins out there.

I'm not into the low-carb craze although I admit that I am eating a

bit more protein and healthy fat than I did when I did low-fat diets

to lost a lot of weight. It is easier to stay on. And a little

tastier! I love bread and never would eat diet bread until my sister

(who was following a low-carb diet) talked me into it. It's not that

bad, and I actually like the sandwich with more protein or fat,

instead of the " real " bread.

I eat pretty healthy, unless I'm being " bad " , of course. Mostly, I

count calories and try to stay 1,300 - 1,400 calories per day.

Pretty much the USDA food pyramid. Grains, veggies, fruits, small

amount of healthy fat, moderate protein. No gimmicks.

I've been a Leader for Weight Watchers and Diet Workshop and both are

great programs although my WW days were pre-points so I never got

into that. I know people say the points system works, but what works

is that you're expending more energy than you are taking in. Simple

as that, no matter what the food is.

Dolores is the career expert here on nutrition. I'm just the expert

through trial and error and experience!

Eva,

Don't get too excited. Kathi was only a size 6 to begin with.
