Guest guest
Hi Val, My most recent blood labs show my free T-4 and free T-3 are both at the top of the range (T-3 is a tiny bit over the top, T-4 is right at the top...I don't have the exact #s in front of me). A 24-hour urine test my doctor ordered shows my T3/T4 are at the bottom of the range. I'm not sure how reliable urine tests are...but that's how I feel...as though my thyroid #s are at the bottom. I'm currently taking 32.5mg HC and 4 1/4 grains Armour. I also take 1000mg Vit C, 6000iu Vit D, 2000mcg B-12, 10mg DHEA, 200mg magnesium. I went back and forth a few months ago between HC and prednisolone...I felt slightly better when I dosed my HC more frequently, so my doc and I felt a trial of the prednisolone might help me feel better...I felt worse (more fatigued/brain fog) on the prednisolone...though the dose I was taking might have been low (6 1/4mg...so roughly 27.5mg HC equivalent, I think...). So now I'm back on HC, after going down on the dose to 25mg for 1 month (my doc thought I had been doing best on that dose...but when I told him I felt worse, we went back up to 32.5mg). I have never felt any great relief from thyroid/adrenal symptoms. My biggest complaints are body-numbing fatigue...where everything feels heavy and it's difficult to stay awake...even driving. My eyes are sensitive to light, I start sweating at the slightest exertion but get cold when I'm inactive. My legs/hips ache (symptoms of restless leg syndrome/bursitis) and I have no energy/stamina or sex drive. These have always been my worst symptoms, and they remain to be. I ramped up the HC to 32.5mg because my temps had never completely stabilized...daily averages at 30mg would range: 98.7, 98.4, 98.3...there are days my temps are high (obviously, since the daily average goes over 98.7) and days it's low. My basal temp (last time I did it) was 97.4. I don't think I'm on too much HC...mostly because, like I said, my temps still varied at least .2 per day, I never really felt great relief of symptoms, and now my blood levels of T3/T4 are so high, but urine levels are so low. But, without the bias of my own opinion...what do you think could be going on? My aldosterone tests at the top of the range...both in blood and urine tests, so I don't think that's the problem. My doc is convinced my diabetes is getting in the way of the thyroid hormones working properly...I don't know what to think of that. Any advice for me? Thanks, and sorry for the long message...
