Jeanne: I have a few suggestions before you buy. First, get one that

will fill your needs in the future. Remember, this is a progressive

disease and while you may not need a tilt-back or reclining chair

now, you may need it later on. Especially if you're buying this with

Medicare or other insurance, check on their requirements for payment

and ask for referrals to a mobility assistance store.

A wheelchair has to fit you properly, so I wouldn't just buy one on

the Internet. If you find something that's comfortable when shopping

for one, you can then get a price for that brand and model on the Net.

Are you looking for a manual or power chair. Again, you may be able

to negotiate a manual chair now, but a power chair will meet your

needs down the line.

I know you will get some valuable information from this group.

internet, but the more we look the more confusing it gets. Which

ones would you guys reccomend for a beginner at this? I hate getting

something and not liking it. Name & model # if you have any

suggestions. Thanks in advance...Jeannie/N.J.
