Guest guest
Hello! My husband & I are looking for some advice concerning the DBB. Our 7 week old daughter Alyssa was born with severe bilateral clubfoot and we recently completed her treatment with Dr. Ponseti. She did not need a tenotomy, and we just took her last casts off Monday evening (she went through 6 castings from the age of 2 weeks). Her poor feet and skin are incredibly sensitive and she cried whenever anything (even bath water) touched them, so putting her into socks and trying to slide her tiny feet into the DBB shoes was no fun for her or us - she screamed in pain the whole time. Now, two days later it still is a huge challenge to keep her tiny tiny feet down into the shoes the way they should be, and she still seems to be in pain. Has anyone else had this problem?? I have the straps as tight as they can go without hurting her, (they already leave red marks) and have tried different socks, but it seems she has Houdini feet and I'm worried that if we don't get this right soon, she'll end up back in casts. Whenever she attempts to move her legs, inevitable one or both of her feet come up a bit to where her heel is no longer down. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
