Guest guest
Kathy, I'm so sorry to hear you are in such pain. Don't worry about those nasty 10 pounds, they'll fly off real quick. Could it be from the pain meds? Get some rest and take care of yourself. -- Sue Huls 214/183.5/175 (mini goal) 3/9/
Guest guest
Kathy, I'm glad you reported in. Aren't they giving you anything for the pain? Hey, maybe you should haul Callie out of bed and make her do your typing for you. You could dictate to her . . . and we might learn some of your family secrets! I hope you get to feeling better soon, and don't worry about those pounds, you know they are probably mostly from the fluid the seem to want to pump people full of! It'll come right off. Guest guest
Hi Sue ... I haven't gotten the pleasure of 'meeting' you yet, but I wanted to ask if you had anesthesia. What kind of shoulder surgery did you have? Anesthesia will swell you up like a balloon .. the good news is, within a week, it will be gone gone gone! And you'll feel great because one day you'll wake up, and all of a sudden you've lost the entire 10 lbs. Jeanine 198/188/180 (minigoal) > Kathy, > I'm so sorry to hear you are in such pain. Guest guest
It was me that had the surgery, Sue was not that unlucky. Yes I had not only general anesthesia, but some sort of other block that they do. Its a har shot in the neck.... when the needle goes in it hurts like you wouldn't believe and then your arm starts jumping and flopping around like it is having a seizure that will never stop--- that's how they know they have the right place-- I would have passed out from the pain if they had to do it a second time. You get the neck shot first before the general. BUT the good thing about it is that your arm is numb for several hours after you wake up-- I got the shot around 12 noon and I didn't feel anything unil almost 4:00 the next morning. I have two vicodin every 4 hours with a 800mg ibuprofin in between. As to what they did--- cut off the end of the collar bone, smoothed out several spurs on the bone that is in yoour arm (that make your shoulder joint) smoothed the joint and repaired several tears in the tendon/ligament (whichever it is). All around opinion--- It's a horrible thing to have done, but it had to be. Thanks for all the well wishes... when I can type better I will tell you about hospital eating... --- maisee@... wrote: > Hi Sue ... Guest guest
poor Kathy :-( If I lived close to you, I'd come over, make you a cup of tea and type your emails as you dictate to me :-) Don't mind the weight - it's gonna come right back off as your shoulder heals up!
