How long had you been on 1 grain Armoru before these tests or were you?

TAP free cortisol rhythm

7-8 am - 22 normal (13-24 nM)

11-12 am - 0 depressed (5-10 nM)

4-5 pm - 7 normal (3-8 nM)

11 midnight - 4 normal (1-4 nM)

Cortisol burden - 33 (22-42)

DHEA dehydroepiandrosterone - 5 normal (3-10 ng/ml)

Cortisol-DHEA correlation (not sure how to read this, but think it is

5? - which is non-adapted, low reserves)

fTSH 64 normal (normal 26-85 nIU/ml)

fT4 0.21 normal (normal 0.17-0.42 ng/dl)

fT3 0.35 normal (normal 0.28-1.10 pg/ml)

TPO Negative

E2 estradiol 14 (normal range follicular 5-13 and luteal 7-20)

P1 progesterone 178 (normal range follicular 20-100 and luteal 65-500)

TTF free testosterone 15 normal (borderline 5-7 and normal 8-10)

(I am in perimenopause - still having periods like clockwork (a few

periods that are late or early) every 28-30 days, with slight changes

in flow, but worse cramping and moodiness, am 48 years of age)

I did the saliva testing on day 19 of my cycle.

I was on almost 2.5 grains of Armour until this past summer when my

TSH was very low - around 0.1 and my endo told me to lower the dose -

I also was feeling very jittery and having heart palps - couldn't sit

still in a chair. So I have been on 1 grain for about 4 months I am

guessing. I have been on Armour thyroid since being formally

diagnosed with hypo about 2 years ago now (?). My TSH was around 5

when first diagnosed.

An aside, I, too, have twinges of pain in my adrenal/kidney area as

others have talked about here, so I know my adrenals are struggling.

Thanks !

Chris

Well you are certainly hypo on 1 grain now, but I suspect your adrenls

are in a stste of flux changing fro a stage 3 to stage 4, as the sex

hormones have not gone way high btu you are NOT hgh cortisol either, I

think in your place I would try Isocort and raising the thyrod back up.

You should also have ferritin checked to see if low feritin was part of

the problem while on the higher Armoru dose.

I take this to mean that I am not a hopeless case. Where/how do I get Isocort

and how quickly do I raise the Armour and how do I dose the Isocort along with

the Armour? Questions-questions!

What do you think is causing my sudden high blood pressure? I thought by

these values that my cortisol is high-normal. No?

Thanks so much !

What about your noon cortilsl of 0? That can undo alot of good the

other times of day may be giving you. You will need to do a Google

search for isocort to fnd places that sell it. There is a ramp up

schedule in our f9iles section under How to treat adrenals. There is

also a new members folder there that has good info too!
