Headaches with IsoCort

I have been slowly increasing my IsoCort dose over the past six weeks up to 6

per day. About three weeks ago, I started having mid-day headaches (around

noon) at which time I was taking seven a day. I cut back to six thinking that

taking three in the morning was the trigger, but am still having the headaches?

I take two when I wake, two more four hours later, one more four hours after

that and one at bedtime. Most of my hyper symtoms (and hypo symptoms) have gone

away but this new one is really bothering me. Any suggestions would be great.

I have been in the process of increasing my Armour dose and

unfortunately, my doc only wants to do labs every 8 weeks! She

doesn't believe in increasing my dosage until then. I am due for a

blood test in a week so probably won't have the results for another

two weeks. With the holidays, I was hoping to find a solution before

hand.

For a little history, I took 1.5 grains for one year and then all of

a sudden my TSH sky rocketed to 27 so when I tried taking more Armour

(2.0 grains), I got the shakes, hot flashes, etc. so my doc insisted

on Synthroid. I didn't feel as well on Synthroid so I am back with

the Armour again and using IsoCort (per my Naturopath). I am taking

2.25 grains and just starting to feel " hypo " again: dry skin, tired,

sinus headaches. For the most part, I am doing much better.

Possibly I will end up increasing my Armour once again?

Debbie,

I had headaches on Isocort too--when my doc switched me to HC

they stopped.

Tasia,

Thanks for the reply. It does seem odd that I am all of a sudden

having these headaches now that I am taking IsoCort. They feel

somewhat like a sinus headache but they are just very light and

dull.

I am looking forward to getting my blood work done to see where the

rest of my hormones are. I have learned so much in the past two

months through these patient-to-patient sites...I am very thankful!

I will ask my doctor about HC if my thyroid levels are good. WIsh me

luck! Merry Christmas!
