Guest guest
Jeanie, I had received my insurance forms saying they had not paid Dr. Herron for my consult. I called them because I know the surgery is covered by them they looked at the bill and said the office sent the billing for a consult for weight loss (only - Not Weight Loss Surgery) which they would cover. so I am trying to get in touch with whoever bills for him to rebill with the proper diagnosis. Check and make sure this is not the case with your company. If they cover the surgery they most likely cover the consult too. Oh, by the way I think $200.00 is the magic number in New York for everything!! :0) Vera On Thu, 11 Jan 2001 13:26:25 -0000 jeannie793@... writes: > I should add that originally I was told that there was NO consult fee > > with Dr Gagner. Guest guest
Vera, No the consult was denied by my HMO. Therefore when they billed the HMO it was denied period. Then they started billing me. it wasn't a code thing with my HMO. We knew going into the visit that I was going on my own without their approval. They just thought that if I won an appeal that they would get paid then. I didn't win and now they are billing me. But thanks for the tip! Jeannie -- In duodenalswitchegroups, " V. C.
